As well as rare southern African game animals, several exotic species 0 llama and pygmy hippopotamus, for example - may be seen here. Of the southern African mammal species, black rhinoceros, waterbuck tsessebe, giraffe, and plains zebra roam the flat, open grassland and the bush-covered hillsides, one of which also features an extensive area of euphorbia. Many bird species are present. Location: South-central part of the province, Potgietersrus. Access: From Potgietersrus take the N1 northwards, watching out for signposts to the reserve a short distance out of the town. An entrance fee is charged. Accommodation: A camping site is opposite the entrance to the reserve. There is also a hotel nearby. Other facilities: Picnic sites with fireplaces; circular game-viewing drive.
